The Ashland County Youth Justice Innovations Program is run by the County Department of Children and Families. The goal is to find positive ways to work with youth who have entered the justice system. By providing mentorship our aim is to help youth build the skills that they need to engage with our community in positive ways. The underlying philosophy is that most youth who are involved with the youth justice system need connection to their community, relationships with positive adults, the development of pro-social skills and healing from the challenges that they have faced in their lives as an alternative to the model of punishment and detention.
We are seeking adult mentors who have their own lived experience in the youth or adult justice system. We believe that adults who have "turned their lives around"
